Huawei smartphone with 3D camera for skin analysis [New Patent]
Huawei’s latest P50 Pocket has a round cover display, which can also be used as a smart mirror. A Sunscreen Detection mode is available. Once activated, the phone measures whether enough sunscreen has been applied to your face and whether it is evenly distributed.
Now, according to the information, the Chinese manufacturer is set to bring new ideas for the future. Huawei has filed a patent for camera technology that should make it possible to analyze your face and skin structure, in order to provide advice based on that.
Huawei smartphone with triple camera for 3D facial shots
According to the letsgodigital. the patent was registered by Huawei Technologies with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in July 2021. The 43-page documentation titled “Appearance analysis method, and electronic device” was released on January 27, 2022, after being approved in late December.
As per the patent images, there is a triple-camera system capable of taking 3D facial images, in order to perform an accurate facial analysis on the basis of this. To make this possible, the first and second cameras are placed perpendicular to each other. The third camera is placed in between, with the distance between the first and second camera being equal.
To better visualize the patented technology, graphic designer Parvez Khan, aka Technizo Concept , created a series of product images based on the patent documentation.
Advanced face and skin analysis with tips
The three cameras are able to capture a 3D model. Think of a human face, but animals – such as cats and dogs – are also recognized. During the recording you will see instructions on the screen so that a full face detection can take place.
The camera system is able to provide information about your pores, wrinkles, acne, blackheads, color spots, red region, dark eyes or a combination of these. The user can rotate the face as desired via the round touch display, so that you can explicitly analyze a certain part of your face.
