Huawei confirms P40 series will not have Google services and apps

Huawei has confirmed that the P40 and P40 Pro smartphones are set to be released in the first quarter of 2020. The smartphones will get the Huawei Mobile Services instead of Google Mobile Services (GMS). Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business cleared that the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro will run Android 10 (Android 10 is open source, meaning Huawei is able to access it freely.), these devices will use Huawei’s EMUI interface. So now everything is clear the upcoming devices will not be pre-installed with Google Play Store, Gmail, YouTube, and Google Maps.

This happens because of U.S. export restrictions, Google cannot authorize Huawei to use its GMS mobile service. According to the image leaked online shows, the smartphone to have a curved display quit similar to the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. There will be a total of four cameras, and volume, power on/off buttons on the right side of the handset.

The Huawei P40 is expected to pack a Huawei Kirin 990 5G SoC. Huawei first announced the Kirin 990 5G processor at IFA 2019 earlier this month. This is the company’s first mobile processor with an integrated 5G modem.   the Huawei P40 specifications include, a 6.57-inch AMOLED screen with dual punch-hole design, which will feature 2K+ resolution and support HDR content.
