Huawei filed trademark for a new smartwatch – Watch RS

Huawei has filed a trademark with EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) for the name Huawei Watch RS. The application is categorized as Class 9/14. It will be used in the smartwatch category.

The Huawei Mate 40 series is said to be released in the second half of 2020, we can expect the new smartwatch from the company at the time of the Mate 40 launch.

In addition to ‘Huawei Watch RS’, the name ‘GTRS’ was also found- without the addition of Huawei and/or Watch. This application was filed the same day by the same intermediary, namely Forresters from Germany – who regularly arranges trademark applications for Huawei Technologies. ‘GTRS’ may represent a combination of Watch GT and Watch RS. However, this remains speculative for the time being – LetsGoDigital.
