Huawei in March last year updated the Mate 40 series product line, and the new member Huawei Mate 40E officially debuted. The phone is equipped with Kirin 990E processor, adopts 7nm+ EUV process technology, and integrates a 5G baseband.
Now, according to many Weibo tipsters, the new Huawei Mate 40 series phone was exposed online today, along with the rumored Kirin 9000L news. They said that the Kirin 9000L does exist, and at the same time, this chip will be equipped with the new Huawei Mate 40 series phone – Mate 40E Pro, and it will be also 5G supported device.
According to previous reports, the Kirin 9000L will be built using Samsung’s 5nm EUV process. The overall design is similar to that of the Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E, but the configuration has been reduced.
The Kirin 9000L will increase the main frequency of the large-core A77 CPU to 2.86GHz, while the previous Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E both use the A77 large-core of 3.13GHz; in terms of GPU, compared with the other two, it is greatly reduced. It is equipped with an 18-core Mali-G78 CPU, while the Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E have 24 and 22 cores respectively.
As for NPU, Kirin 9000L only retains one large NPU core, Kirin 9000E has 1 large core + 1 micro core, and Kirin 9000 adopts a combination of 2 large cores + 1 micro core.
It is worth mentioning that during the Huawei Connect 2021 conference last year, Xu Zhijun, the rotating chairman of Huawei, said that HiSilicon is only a chip design department in Huawei, not a profitable organization.
