Huawei’s Mate 50 series has finally got a launch date and the company has decided to launch its new Mate 50 series on September 6, 2022. Judging from the official poster, a round of golden rings rises from the top of the mountain, which may imply that the Mate 50 will continue the classic back star ring design.
As per the last leak, the Huawei Mate 50 series will launch four models, Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, Mate 50 RS Porsche Design, and Mate 50 E, the first three models will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 flagship processor.
It is worth mentioning that one of the biggest changes in the Huawei Mate 50 series is that the Pro version returns to the notch design. In addition to supporting 3D face unlocking, it will also bring practical functions such as face payment.
The new Huawei Mate 50 series will use BOE’s new screen and support a 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, the phone was rumored to support up to 2160PWM high-frequency dimming.
It is worth noting that the logo of Huawei Image XMAGE, a brand new brand that Huawei just released earlier this month, appears in the center of the camera module of the phone.
As far as the camera specs are concerned, it was said to get a switchable aperture – f/1.4 and f/4 – for the 50MP main camera. On the Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS that should be an IMX800, on the vanilla model it should be the IMX766 instead.
As for the selfie camera, it will be a 13MP unit with a 3D sensor for face unlock on the Pro and RS models.
All phones are expected to use 66W fast charging for the 4,500mAh batteries on the Pro and RS (plus wireless charging), and 4,400mAh on the vanilla model.
