At the Huawei Developer Conference 2024 (HDC 2024) this afternoon, Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s executive director, chairman of the Terminal Business Group, and chairman of the Intelligent Automotive Solutions Business Unit, announced that the Huawei Mate 70 series will launch in the fourth quarter of this year (October to December).
Starting June 21st, developers will receive the Beta version of HarmonyOS NEXT, with the Beta version becoming available to regular consumers in August. The Huawei Mate 70 series will be the first devices to feature the official version of HarmonyOS NEXT, which will also be rolled out to other devices from the fourth quarter.
Yu Chengdong also highlighted that HarmonyOS NEXT offers a 30% boost in overall performance and a 20% reduction in power consumption. HarmonyOS native applications are in full development, with all top 5000 apps now available, covering 99.9% of user needs. Over 1,500 applications have been launched across 18 different fields.
