Huawei is set to unveil its Mate 50 series next month somewhere around September 7, 2022. Same day (expected) as Apple’s iPhone 14 series event.
Earlier, some rumors claimed that there are three new models in the Huawei Mate 50 series. But, now a well-known Weibo tipster, uncle watching mountains, revealed that there are four new models in the series.
In terms of screen shape, Huawei Mate 50 and Huawei Mate 50 E maintain a similar design, adopting a straight-edge screen, and should also be equipped with a punch-hole screen, which is currently a more popular solution for users.
The Huawei Mate 50 Pro and Huawei Mate 50 RS may debut with curved screens and will be upgraded to Liu Haiping, which can bring higher-level face recognition and other functions.
The Mate 50 series will have AMOLED displays made by BOE, according to the rumors. The Pro and RS are allegedly coming with curved 6.78” 120Hz LTPO displays (1,212 x 2,612px), the vanilla model a flat 90Hz LTPS display.
The rumored specs include a fourth model, the Huawei Mate 50E, which is similar to the vanilla model, except that it will use the Snapdragon 778G chipset (again limited to 4G connectivity).
