The top 5000 applications have begun developing native versions for HarmonyOS

At the Huawei Developer Conference 2024, Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s executive director and chairman of both the Terminal Business Group and Intelligent Automotive Solutions Business Unit, announced significant progress for HarmonyOS native applications. The top 5000 apps have been fully launched, covering 99.9% of user needs, with over 1,500 apps now available across 18 different fields.

Reports indicate that HarmonyOS NEXT has achieved a unified system ecosystem, connecting multiple devices and scenarios to enhance overall performance. This new system architecture boosts device performance by 30%, providing users with a comprehensive intelligent operating system experience.

Yu Chengdong said: “HarmonyOS is a full-scenario intelligent operating system built based on OpenHarmony. It is an operating system originating from China and is independently controllable.”

Additionally, Huawei introduced the new Star Shield security architecture and HarmonyOS native intelligence. The updated human-computer interaction system offers more natural and multimodal communication. Personalized exclusivity ensures a more intuitive and secure experience, while full-scene intelligence enhances perception, collaboration, and continuous service across all scenarios.
